New Site

Yes another new site.

Followers of 2GoBelow.com will notice that we have changed the look of our site again. Sure this is not the ideal situation, but we have to keep up with the latest developments in web design and ways of presenting our work to you, our viewing public.

A big thanks to all for your comments from our last design and we have have listened to what you have said, with that brings the new look and feel.

We have partnered with two entities Photoshelter who are the backbone of our image archive, our choice for using them is simple, they make the on line purchasing of images, simple, effective and most of all super secure. (more…)

On occasions when surfing the web for some photographic inspiration, I come across photographers that can really touch your soul with their work. I would like to direct you to a truely inspirational underwater photographer, John Scarlett. In particular his pictoral essay on loving sharks.

Only too often when speaking to people that I come in contact with and start talking about what we do, the first question is, “But what about the sharks, have you ever been attacked?” I smile and just put their ignorance down to a lack of education. Of course I try hard to educate, but I am always left thinking, are they walking away thinking “crazy fool!” (more…)

The Manta Rays are Back in Sharm El Sheikh | Diving News – April 2010

The winter is finally over, that said it hasn’t been like the winters of past, like the rest of the world Sharm didn’t escape strange weather patterns, One day hot, the next cold with some very wet days mixed in for good measure.

Looking forward, the diving season has started well. Manta Ray sightings are being reported from many of the local dive sites around Sharm El Shiekh, with Far Garden and Tower being the hot dive sites to visit. The BIG question on every dive guides mind is When do the whale sharks arrive? Will we get the rich plankton blooms of 2008 that made once rare encounters with these giants of the sea, a daily occurrence?  We will keep you posted. (more…)

Manta Feeding Frenzy

Starting the “From around the web” category is this wonderful photo story by Thomas P. Peschak, for those not in the know, Mr Peschak is the Chief Photographer of the “Save our Seas” foundation.

Here, Thomas has documented the feeding behaviour of the Manta Rays of Hanifaru marine protected area, situated in the Maldives. Amongst the 200 Manta rays there are a dozen whales Sharks thrown in for good measure. Some fantastic video and inspirational photos, watch out for the close up shot of the manta’s mouth at 03:36 into the video.
